Echo Mountain
About 36 miles from Denver
The closest ski area to Denver, Echo Mountain is considered an “intermediate mountain,” but there are some slopes suitable for beginners. Echo Mountain is also one of the few resorts in Colorado to offer night skiing. It’s the perfect option for day trips in Denver.

For history buffs, the George Rowe Museum in Silver Plume, CO, offers Old West and mining artifacts from historic Plume. Arapahoe Basin
Known locally as A-Basin, Arapahoe is a great spot for intermediate and advanced skiers on its double black diamonds. Be sure to check out “The Beach,” this parking lot is used as a tailgating area to relax and have fun between runs.
